Better Audio.
Any Geely.
Every Geely we see — any spec, any model — can be transformed. The factory system is a starting point. Without engine noise masking the gaps, every limitation becomes more noticeable in these quiet EVs and hybrids. We fix that, starting from under $1,800.
Riddara RD6
Pure EV. The silent drivetrain makes cabin acoustics everything — and there is significant room to improve on the factory system. We have physically inspected the Riddara and mapped the available space for every component.
Starray EM-i
Available in two factory audio configurations — the standard 6-speaker system and the premium 16-speaker Flyme Sound package. Both benefit from proper DSP control, sound deadening, and genuine low-end presence.
EX-5
Two audio variants from the factory with the standard system or premium Flyme Sound option, and we can take either further — more control, more refinement, more of what you actually want to hear.

More Music.
Less Road.
Factory audio has gaps. We fill them.

- Professional sound deadening — all four doors
- Power kit, cables and minor parts
- Installation and calibration
The foundation of every great car audio system is controlling what's missing — and in the Geely range, that's genuine low-end presence and a properly treated cabin. A compact underseat subwoofer fills the frequency gap the factory system simply wasn't designed to address. Sound deadening across all four doors reduces road and wind intrusion, and turns each door into a properly sealed acoustic environment for its speaker. Two changes. The difference is immediate.

The factory speakers in your Geely are adequate — but adequate isn't the same as good. What they're missing isn't replacement: it's power and control. A multichannel DSP amplifier drives the factory speakers with significantly more headroom, bringing them to life in a way the factory head unit never could. More importantly, the DSP gives us individual control over every driver in the vehicle — each tweeter, each midwoofer, front or rear, independently adjusted for timing, phase, and equalisation. The result is a soundstage that's balanced, detailed, and tuned specifically to your ears and your car.

When the factory speakers have reached their limit, we replace them. System Three pairs the full DSP control of System Two with upgraded component speakers front and rear — selected to match the vehicle, the owner's listening preferences, and the kind of sound experience they're after. Speaker options range from high-value component sets that will transform the system, through to reference-grade drivers that match or even out-perform your dedicated home audio system. The subwoofer is also reconsidered at this level — underseat, underfloor, or a custom enclosure designed specifically for the Geely's interior. Every component is chosen, installed, and calibrated by ear. No visible changes. Nothing that can't be reversed.

Rapid Radio has been installing and calibrating car audio systems in Auckland for over two decades. We work across the full spectrum — from everyday EVs through to Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Tesla — with every build calibrated by ear to the vehicle and the owner. No compromise installs. Factory-clean finish. Every time.
No two builds are the same — and that's the point.
Because the DSP is the engine of every upgrade, the hardware around it is entirely flexible. Entry-level speaker sets will sound dramatically better than the factory system — and world-class reference components will do things the factory engineers never imagined. We work across the full range, from practical upgrades to reference builds, and every system is calibrated by ear before you leave.

Upgrade Packages
Can you upgrade the audio in any Geely model sold in New Zealand?
Yes. We work with all three current NZ Geely models — the Riddara RD6, Starray EM-i, and EX-5. Both the standard and premium factory audio configurations are upgradeable. The approach differs slightly depending on which spec your vehicle has, which is why we start every build with a consultation.
How much does a Geely audio upgrade cost in New Zealand?
Stage 1 — subwoofer and four-door sound deadening — starts from under $1,800. Stages 2 and 3 involve a DSP amplifier and speaker upgrades respectively, and pricing varies depending on your factory audio configuration and component choices. Contact us for a tailored quote.
Will upgrading the audio void my Geely warranty?
In most cases, no. All of our installations are fully reversible — no cutting, no permanent modifications, and everything can be returned to factory condition. We recommend confirming with your Geely dealer, but our install method is specifically designed to preserve your vehicle's warranty position.
What is a DSP amplifier and why does my Geely need one?
A DSP — Digital Signal Processor — is a professional-grade amplifier that takes control of every speaker in your vehicle. It corrects timing, phase, and equalisation across the entire system, fixing the acoustic compromises that every factory audio system is engineered around. The result is a soundstage that is more accurate, more detailed, and tuned specifically to your vehicle and your preferences.
Does the Geely Starray Inspire 16-speaker Flyme Sound system need upgrading?
Even the premium Flyme Sound system benefits from professional DSP calibration and sound deadening. The factory system is tuned to sound acceptable to everyone — we tune it to sound exceptional to you. A subwoofer upgrade is also possible if you want more low-end presence than the factory system delivers.
How long does a Geely audio upgrade take?
Stage 1 is typically a one-day installation. Stage 2 adds the DSP amplifier and calibration, usually requiring two to three days. Stage 3 with full speaker replacement and custom tuning may take three days or longer depending on the complexity of the build. We will confirm timing when you book.
Will the upgrade look factory when it is finished?
Yes. All Stage 1 and Stage 2 installations are completely invisible — no visible changes to the interior, no storage space lost, no trim modifications. Stage 3 custom builds maintain the same factory-clean standard unless you specifically request visible changes such as a custom subwoofer enclosure.
Where are you located and do you work on vehicles from outside Auckland?
